bsimpson Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 Hi, We have a problem with the view port freeze. When we feeze a layer in the modelspace of a viewport and save the drawing, on re-opening the drawing we find that the layer that was switched off has been switched back on i.e. the saved mechanism does not work. We have tried copying a view port that works from another drawing into this drawing by that did not work. We have also compared setttings with the drawing that works and the drawing that does not work. But there was no joy. We think the problem is with the drawing and need a solution preferably with the settings of the drawing. Please can you provide a solution with out having to redrawing the whole drawing. All the best BS Quote
ReMark Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 WBLOCK out what you have into a new drawing? Quote
Dipali Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 are this by anychance xref layers if so change the of visretain to '1' and retry Quote
CyberAngel Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 If I understand your issue correctly, you are trying to VPFreeze a particular layer in a particular viewport, that is, you want to prevent a layer from appearing in a viewport. The layer appears again after you have saved the file and reopened it. As Dipali suggested, the most likely culprit is VISRETAIN. If it is off, all changes to xref layer settings are lost when you close a drawing. If the affected layer(s) is not in an xref, then please provide more information. Quote
bsimpson Posted September 29, 2011 Author Posted September 29, 2011 visretain to '1' did the trick thanks:D Quote
