ADAM'S_APPLE Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 Hi, Does anyone know whether one can enable 'ortho' whilst specifying points using 'WIPEOUT' command?? Thanks Adam Quote
Dana W Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 You can enable it but it has no effect on the wipeout. If you need 90 degree corners on your wipeout, draw an ortho line or pline shape where you want it to go. You can then snap to the corners of this object while you draw the wipeout. Turn your wipeout layer off, then erase the guide lines, then turn the wipeout layer back on. Somebody else know an easier way? Quote
rkent Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 Turn SNAP on, set the spacing to something that makes sense for what you are drawing. Quote
Dana W Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 Tools > Options > Drafting Settings > Snap & Grid tab Snap On > Equal X, & Y Snap type > Grid Snap > Rectangular Snap Grid On > spacing equal to Snap spacing. Then the wipeout will snap to grid points and you can easily control the "Ortho" appearance of a wipeout. Then when you're done with the wipeout, you have to set all that back to the way you really want to draw. Quote
irneb Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 You could of course draw a polyline boundary (either using polygon / rectangle / boundary / pline / etc), then use the WipeOut command's Polyline option to select it, answer "Yes" to remove the original polyline (if you want). Thus you don't need to snap to all those points again. Quote
ADAM'S_APPLE Posted October 11, 2011 Author Posted October 11, 2011 Ok thanks for your suggestions. It seems amazing after so many updates of the program one can't just simply enable ortho for wipeout at the click of an icon. But these are great ways to get round it thank you. Quote
