I go through all the steps turn the 3d part into a block then open up content builder name identify the layer. I go through all the steps then try to use it in the catalog and there's nothing.. I dont quite understand whats going on I have went by every guide possible that I have found online and I get nothing. If anyone has any idea's your help would be greatly appreciated. tzframpton Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Type CATALOGREGEN at the command line and choose "All" and let it run through. It should then populate in your current catalog. Quote
jjjcost Posted October 20, 2011 Author Posted October 20, 2011 tried it no avail, Im not sure if its the software or something I missed. You only need one block of the whole 3d object and it will take the and split it into top, left etc. right? Quote
tzframpton Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 First off lets clear something up: are you making a MvBlock, or a MvPart? There's a huge difference. Answer back and I'll give you another workaround. Quote
jjjcost Posted October 20, 2011 Author Posted October 20, 2011 mvpart I believe, trying to catalog all of our commonly used products. Quote
tzframpton Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 If you're using Content Builder then you're creating a MvPart. Here's a tutorial, try this first and see if this helps you: http://www.geniusoftllc.com/mvparts/create.asp Quote
jjjcost Posted October 20, 2011 Author Posted October 20, 2011 Followed it step by step and it didn't work makes no sense Quote
tzframpton Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Is it not showing up in the Content Builder, or the MvPartAdd catalog? Would you mind giving me a step by step description how you are doing this procedure? If you followed the tutorial I gave step by step then there should have been zero problem at all. Remember to CATALOGREGEN after you've added the part to the catalog. Quote
jjjcost Posted October 24, 2011 Author Posted October 24, 2011 not showing up when i try to apply it to the drawing's themselfs, First I make the part a block then go into the mv part creater select block based part. Fill out the name and designated layer and sub type. Then select the block and generate blocks select all views in block generator. Create the image to depict it in the catalog then place the connectors. Quote
jjjcost Posted October 24, 2011 Author Posted October 24, 2011 turns out that all my mvparts don't show even the ones that are included in the catalog Quote
tzframpton Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 Are you somehow exiting the Catalog Builder without saving? Or do you have another Catalog you're looking in by accident? Quote
jjjcost Posted October 25, 2011 Author Posted October 25, 2011 Na some objects that where orignally included with mep don't show along with my custom condenser Quote
tzframpton Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 Hmmm, I am at a loss. I would have to be in front of the workstation and look over your shoulder for me to understand exactly what was going on. If you still can't find an answer, use some screen capturing software to create a video of your procedure and post it up to let me see how you're doing things. I can be able to then further assist you in tracking down the problem. Quote
jjjcost Posted November 29, 2011 Author Posted November 29, 2011 Turns out the problem was software problems itself and required a reinstall Quote
tzframpton Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 Ah, that happens sometimes. So you got the problem resolved I assume? Quote
jjjcost Posted November 29, 2011 Author Posted November 29, 2011 Yea fortunately, thanks for your help. Quote
