lucynmy Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 Hello there, Can you please help me if you know how to apply the fillet> radius > 0 or 0.5 on, on auto cad. I have tried every thing fallowing the instructions correct and in a proper way step by step from the cad learning book and the help mean ribbon bar but it's not turning in to a carve and it does not say why or the problem. I am using Auto cad 2012. I am so confused whether my Auto card needs new installation or the fillet icon is missing the radius to make the drawn lines join in to carve. Can you please help. kind regards. Quote
JD Mather Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 Attach your file here. What does your command line say when you start the fillet command? R? Hit F2 Alt Print Screen Ctrl v into Paint attach image here. I seriously doubt you need to reinstall the program. Quote
ReMark Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 You're working in 2D right? Are you getting any error messages or are you just not seeing the results you are expecting to see? Quote
CyberAngel Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 "FILLET doesn't work" isn't much to go on. Please provide more detail. A screen capture or the drawing itself would be a big help. Quote
Cad64 Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 If it's not creating the fillet then it should tell you something at the command line like the lines are not coplanar or the radius amount is too large or something. Try it again and watch your command line. Quote
JD Mather Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 I think the due date for the assignment has already passed. Quote
lucynmy Posted October 28, 2011 Author Posted October 28, 2011 Hi, thank you so much every one for your help. i have done everything as you have shown me as well i still get nothing plus my radius is set as 0.00 instead of 0.0000. i might just have to get some one to have a look at the all program may be. ReMark Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 No, I don't believe you have to do that just yet. Post a sample drawing that you are having the problem with. Someone here will take a look at it. The fillet command has been around so long that short of it failing to function (i.e. - you get an UNKNOWN command response from AutoCAD) I don't see where it is likely it just up and stopped working. Have you tried the Fillet command using a bigger radius so you can better see it? Are the lines that you are trying to apply the fillet to so short the radius won't take? Are you zoomed into the drawing enough to even see what is or isn't happening? Quote
JD Mather Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 Hi,.... i still get nothing plus my radius is set as 0.00 instead of 0.0000 What happens if you change it to some other radius (it sounds like this is what you don't know how to do.) The precision is set in your Units. Quote
ReMark Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 FYI: Note that the default setting for the Fillet command when you are working in decimal units is 0.0000. If you were to change your units to architectural the default becomes 0'-0" and so forth for the other available unit settings. Quote
JD Mather Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 lucy, Did you read the first response to the thread? You haven't answered any of the questions from that post. Quote
