deano33 Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Help Have some incoming architectural drawings with loads of different tt font types within mtext. I have globally altered the secondary font styles in format however this does not update the font type within the mtext. Have symplex with areal set and visa versa. Looks like the lot has been set manually different for each individual item of mtext. Nightmare. All mtext is inconsistant and loads of different types on the same drawing. Some idiot must have had a lot of beer. Ideally I would like to set every piece of text and mtext to simlex. Must be an easy way. Can anybody help please? Quote
ReMark Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 You might be able to do a global style change with a macro or lisp routine. Have you looked into either option? Quote

dbroada Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 one of my pet hates - embedded font information within MTEXT. As alan tped quicker than me I won't suggest using LISP. You can also EXPLODE the MTXT which converts it to DTEXT (which you may not want) but it does get rid of the formatting (I think). Quote
ReMark Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 The letters "LT" need to be about 10 times larger for me to see them and in red! LOL Then a plain old macro or a diesel macro should still work. Quote

ReMark Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Change one line of text to the style you want. Then use Match Properties to change all the rest. Quote

deano33 Posted October 31, 2011 Author Posted October 31, 2011 Thanks guys. Yeh running LT and font styles are embedded. Tried match props and no good. Would love to have lisp capabilities but restricted by my employer. Would prefer not to explode the text if possible. If anybody can help that would be great. ReMark is a bit of a diesel king and has helped me before. Have you got a diesel string that will help? I really need to learn diesel. Could create a macro but not sure haw. When I change a columb of mtext I have to manually pick the mtext and then manually select the entire contents within to change the embedded font style. Any ideas on how to automate selection? Quote

With LT, I'm pretty sure you're SOL. Even with full-blown AutoCAD, MText formatting is one of the biggest PITA things to deal with - precisely why I slap wrists when I see it used for much more than underline/bold/numbering. Quote
