Eagi Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Hi all I usually work in 2 viewports in my model-space (one Top and one Front) now I'm taking over a project from a college and it seems like my 2 viewports become linked so that when I switch between them the other one flips, have anyone else had this trouble and can this strange link be broken? thx // Ed Quote
ReMark Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 Post the drawing (zip it if it is too big) so someone here can take a look at it. Quote
Eagi Posted January 4, 2012 Author Posted January 4, 2012 That would probably land me in jail or at the very least get me fired, so in this case I will thankfully decline. It worked OK in the end anyway just a bit frustrating having to work in a single viewport on that project... Thank you for the offer though. Quote
ReMark Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Original thread/post: November 11, 2011. Response: January 4, 2012. I hope it didn't take you that long to arrive at your solution. LOL Some people are under the impression, when asked to post a drawing, that they have to include everything in the drawing in addition to any and all "trade secrets". That just isn't true. We need to see just enough content to be able to have a clearer picture of the problem and a chance to work with the actual drawing exhibiting the problem. And while I have no doubt somewhere along the line there are those (a minority) who might want to "borrow" some content I think I can speak for many of us here when I say that is the furthest thing from our minds when we are attempting to help a fellow CAD user. Your so called single viewport solution sounds more like a kludge than a true fix. What are you going to do the next time the problem arises? Quote

Maybe UCSFOLLOW would be a solution? Quote
Eagi Posted January 5, 2012 Author Posted January 5, 2012 Hehe, no it didn't. It just took me this long to get a reply back to the forum sorry about that... Hoping to become a bit more active around here in the future. I'll take the stripping of files in to account next time I run in to a similar predicament thank you for the tip. Quote
Eagi Posted January 5, 2012 Author Posted January 5, 2012 Yes when I go back and have a look at the files, UCSFOLLOW was set to 1 instead of 0, thank you! If it crops up again in the future I'll know how to deal with it. Quote
ReMark Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 Now aren't you sorry that you did not return sooner? LOL Quote
Eagi Posted January 5, 2012 Author Posted January 5, 2012 Yes minor face-palm moment there. But if delve into likelihood theory, posting earlier might have yielded less results, or at least that is what I'm trying to tell myself to south the pain of lost work hours. Quote
