ChrisGrady Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Hi All I am trying to measure the area of an office space within the stadium and keep getting a ridiculous figure - it keeps saying that it is something like 14 thousand square metres. Am I doing something wrong because it should be coming in somehwere near 150 sq metres? Can anyone help? Here is a screenshot if it helps: Quote
ChrisGrady Posted November 11, 2011 Author Posted November 11, 2011 Sorry this one may be better!! Quote
ReMark Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Neither screenshot is that readable to me. Maybe it's my eyes. Is the stadium drawn at full size in model space? Quote
ChrisGrady Posted November 11, 2011 Author Posted November 11, 2011 Is this any better ReMark? Drawing2.dwg Quote
ReMark Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Is the stadium drawn at full size in model space? Yes/No/I don't know I did not draw it. Quote
mdbdesign Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Mine show ~230 sq meters.(Area = 229949440.5593, Perimeter = 86630.8386) I did measure door and it looks like is in 1:1 scale IMO. Quote
eldon Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 You are mixing units. If you draw in millimetres, the area will also be in square millimetres. If you want the area in another unit, i.e. square metres, you will have to divide your area from the drawing by 1000 x 1000. Quote
KevUK Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 Hi ChrisGrady Try this site. This routine might be of some help. http://www.draftsperson.net/index.php?title=PLA_-_Area_LISP_routine Quote
ChrisGrady Posted November 15, 2011 Author Posted November 15, 2011 Hi all thanks for the replies - sorry for not replying ReMark- I didn't draw it so I wouldn't know if I'm honest, but I did the same as mdbdesigns and measured a corridor width and it was right but couldn't figure out why I was getting the big figures!! It makes sense eldon, it seems as if my inexperience and naivety is showing and I feel slighlty embarassed if I am mixing the units!!! KevUk will that lisp work on the LT programmes? Quote
KevUK Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 Sorry ChrisGrady, I did notice that you were using LT program. Quote
ChrisGrady Posted November 15, 2011 Author Posted November 15, 2011 Didn't think it would - nevermind I will just have to do what eldon suggested, Like the badge KevUK by the way!! Quote
KevUK Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 Like the badge KevUK by the way!! Dreadful performance in New Zealand! Quote
ChrisGrady Posted November 15, 2011 Author Posted November 15, 2011 It was indeed - embarrassing if I'm honest never the less a great performance by Wales!! Which club do you support? I'm a Worcester Warriors fan meself (for my sins!) Quote
KevUK Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 Bath RFC, I live on the outskirts. They also had a shocker at the weekend against Glasgow Warriors! Worcester Warriors are coached by ex Bath player (Richard Hill) hopefully you will do well this season Quote
ChrisGrady Posted November 15, 2011 Author Posted November 15, 2011 Nice place Bath - been there a few times! Not sure about doing well this season - we seem a bit rubbish at the mo, can't close games out for some reason!! Quote
