hoss Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 (edited) Hi, I am working on a basic 3D modle of a boiler house. A flue pipe comes out of the back of boiler hose and rised up. I have done this by extruding a circule along a pline (path). When I try to print a rear view of the boiler house in hidden style, it shows a blank area where the flue pipe is. Is there anyway I could shade the flue pipe so its more clear on the print out. Edited November 21, 2011 by hoss Quote
SLW210 Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Could there be something else in the view blocking the flue pipe? Can you post the file or some images? Quote
tzframpton Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 1. You really should invest in AutoCAD MEP if you're doing mechanical piping and equipment. 2. What procedure are you using for this hidden style? Are you using the HIDE command first, before you plot? Quote
hoss Posted November 21, 2011 Author Posted November 21, 2011 I have picked the vport and selected Hidden in Shade Plot, Becuse I was in a rush and had to send the drawing off, decided to slice the wind shield ( which I refered to as Flue Pipe) in 3M segments to its clear. Still like to know how to do it for future. Thanks Quote
tzframpton Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Can you upload the file by chance? Quote
hoss Posted November 21, 2011 Author Posted November 21, 2011 The file is fairly big (over 10 MB), with 3 X-ref each about 3-4 MB Quote

hoss Posted November 21, 2011 Author Posted November 21, 2011 To be honest I don't think I am allowed to send this outside company Thanks for your help Quote
tzframpton Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Completely understandable. Sometimes it works better if you leave the Viewport to 2D Wireframe, then activate the Viewport and type HIDE. This sometimes yields better results. Quote
