Can't see 3D block silhouette

Can anyone help?

 

When I use 'Assembly Catalog' in MDT2005 to insert 3D parts, I can see a silhouette preview of the 3D part near my crosshair just before I 'select the insertion point'.

 

After converting the same 3D part to MDT2009 & repeating the process I do not see the silhouette preview.

 

How can this be fixed?
