MEP Training

Can anyone (from the UK) advise on an AutoCAD MEP course, possibly at a University or College?

I'm struggling to find an Autodesk training centre offering something locally, but if there's a HN module that includes the software my company may pay for me to complete.

I've only been using MEP for a month and I'm the only user in my office so I've no one to pester for help :)

Maybe you can do what I just did for AutoCAD Electrical and take a three day training course via your local AutoDesk reseller. There has to be one reseller in or around your area that offers such training.

So far I've found no one in Scotland (based on the Autodesk Training Centre search on the website).

Maybe it's time you move to the other side of the pond.

Here is a GREAT book that taught me a ton if you're okay with self learning:

http://www.amazon.com/Aubin-Academy-Master-AutoCAD-2012/dp/1461141265/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1322494542&sr=8-3

What's good about this book is that it doesn't follow a traditional classroom step-by-step "here's what this button does" teaching. It dives into real world scenarios and explains "why" you're using a tool, command, or function.

Also, feel free to pester us. Daily if you like. We here can answer virtually all MEP questions you might have. I'm a mechanical background so my electrical is lacking but in my recently new position I'll be fresh in six months.

Best bets would be Motherwell College, Stow or Anniesland I would assume.

The Autodesk Training centre locator is rubbish.

Try TMS (Thom Micro Systems) think its based out by Stirling/Falkirk way. Or where ever Larbet is. :)

StykFacE, thanks for the help. I will def buy this from amazon on pay day!

stevsmith, I'm the first to 'big up' Motherwell as I did my HNC there :) They don't do anything MEP-like though, I was there recently to review a NC in draughting for the SQA, they're focusing on Inventor for the CADD dept and Revit for the Architectural Tech dept. I will most def check out the others, especially TMS.

Thanks a bunch!
