Issues Opening Drawings in Autocad MAP3D

I have an issue when opening files in Autocad Map 3D

 

Instead of opening an explorer window, a command prompt appears on the screen requesting that I enter the file name.

 

When I attempt to do this, it states "unable to find file", even if I enter the full file name.

 

This is causing me a lot of problems: I can only open files created on my home PC (BY CLICKING ON ITEMS IN THE RECENT FILE LIST) using AUTOCAD MAP 3d, I cannot use files created on other computers or in other AUTODESK applications!
