Re-training on 2D AutoCAD, after years of 3D Parametric...

Back in the job market, with so many firms still using (and demanding) 2D AutoCAD proficiency, I am retraining on AutoCAD 2010, after 7+yrs of work on 3D parametric BIM ArchiCAD .

funny... I kept trying to 'flip the model' then I realized it's all on single plane...

Doing the Lynda training now, though fairly basic.

Can someone suggest a tutorial for professionals?

I'd like to get current on best use of the tool for creating/managing CDs, for ex:

- Effective was of generating floorplans and elevations. Are people still using 'projection lines' to draw upper floors and/or elevations, from a basic plan? or are there any new tools to make this process less 'manual' with higher accuracy for coordination?

- AutoCAD 2010 has parametric features, very cumbersome though, but perhaps someone could suggest a tutorial to take advantage of it.

- and in gral. if anyone knows a source for high speed drafting or methodology on AutoCAD

will appreciate any suggestions.

thanks,

Why don't you call your local AutoDesk reseller and inquire into whether or not they offer advanced AutoCAD training. In all likelihood they do but I think it might be in the use of 3D not 2D which is probably what you want to be using away. High speed drafting and methodology? Seems like that would call for some training in how to customize AutoCAD and using the power of lisp, VBA and .NET don't you think?

Can't remember the last time I used projection lines!
