michaeldimitrov Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Hi New here, never posted in one of these... Ever I am trying to create a CAD drawing for the construction of Paddle Pop sticks. It is the basic shape of the Magnum sticks, but it is tricky because it has a 140 diameter taper, from the top of the jig to the bottom. I am trying to make the circle attached to the shape of the stick, and the Sweep the circle around the shape. But when I try to sweep it around, it says "The sweep results in a self-intersecting circle". I am using AutoCAD 2012. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Mick P.S. I have attached the .dwg file so that it makes more sense. Austicks Magnum Paddle Pop Stick.dwg Quote
ReMark Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 (edited) I managed to sweep a circle based upon an approximation of the shape you provided. Here is the result. Edited December 12, 2011 by ReMark Quote
ReMark Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 I'm assuming you figured out a solution all on your own thus the reason for no reply. Good for you. Quote
Dadgad Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 I'm assuming you figured out a solution all on your own thus the reason for no reply. Good for you. More power to you if you got it by yourself. Self intersecting surfaces are a real PITA. While trying to analyze and rectify the sweeping issue, a rrhoid pillow could come in handy. Butt all kidding aside, well done ReMark, I tried and couldn't do it. I'm guessing that you swept it as short little bits. I was trying to sweep the whole as a polyline, and came up short (hey, that's what she said!). Quote
