mc21 Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 Hi, it's probably something obvious but I'm having real issues printing to PDF and then the printed PDF being at the right scale. I've always thought that selecting 'ISO Full Bleed' would mean that the selected drawing would then save as a PDF to the same scale as the original drawing, but every time I print a saved PDF it seems the measurement are always under! I've tried changing a few bits but having no luck and wasting loads of time, any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks Quote
Bill Tillman Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 I guess this would depend on a couple of things which you make no reference to. 1. First, are your printing from paperspace using viewports or are you printing from model space? 2. What printer type are you using and do you have the latest driver for it? 3. How are you setting up your page manager for this job? There are many other issues which could be causing your problem as well. So could you please tell us more about how your print jobs are configured? Quote

IOW - where is the scale error being introduced? 95% of the time in these situations I have seen, there is nothing wrong with the PDF, it's the PDF application (Acrobat Reader, etc) or the print driver that is scaling down the PDF when printed to paper. mc21 Posted January 5, 2012 Author Posted January 5, 2012 Hi, It's when I try to print from paperspace, with an A3 layout with viewports. Select plot, DWG To PDF.pc3 then the paper size I select ISO full bleed, plot area Extents, centre plot, plot scale 1:1 The drawing saves to PDF but then when I print off that saved PDF the scale is out. Page Setup Manager I guess is set to default Quote
mc21 Posted January 5, 2012 Author Posted January 5, 2012 Hi, not sure how I would check if the PDF is out of scale before it's printed? Quote
eldon Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 In a lot of cases, the printing of the PDF to paper has the Page Scaling set as Fit to paper. Try setting the Page Scaling to None. Quote
mc21 Posted January 5, 2012 Author Posted January 5, 2012 Eldon, you seem to have cracked it! Thank you so much... Quote
