Funny Cursor When in IDE Screen

Recommended Posts

I am pretty sure I read something about this recently but it's slipping my memory where. As I'm working with my code and switching back and forth between the model space and the IDE, when I return to the IDE screen instead of a vertical line cursor I'm getting this odd cursor with what appears to be () parenthesis. I have to click the mouse to get it to return to the regular cursor.

One other thing...I'm using 2010 at this location but at home I'm using 2012. I thought auto-complete worked in both versions, but apparently not.

That's what I've double checked for but can't seem to find it. I've got all my parens closed...at least it runs without giving me trouble. Is there anyway to check on what command is stuck? Actually the command line at the model space window says 'VLIDE

only one '....but I can't see where this command got started unless you count the first time I typed in VLISP at the command line.

I've closed out and restarted AutoCAD a couple of times. When the IDE window opens all is well, but the command line back in model space shows 'VLIDE....again. And then when I return to the model space the blank command line comes up but then the () cursor is present again. I don't know any commands could be running since nothing has been executed.

Sorry to be such a pain guys, but this won't go away. Last week, I was running this process on this very same machine without the () cursor issue.

So I close down AutoCAD and reopen it back up with an empty drawing file. I type VLISP at the command line and the last VLISP program I was working autoloads in. I close it out and open up one I was running last week without any () issue. Still the same problem.

So I shutdown AutoCAD again and open it anew. I then type VLISP in the command window and the Console Window and the Trace Window open up. There is no editor window this time so there is no code standing by to be run. I have typed nothing in the command window except VLISP and pressed . The darn () cursor shows up again. I just don't follow how a command could be open.

I'm going to try cold booting this computer to see if that doesn't clear things up.
