myself Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 I dont know if this has happened to someone here ,but i've just installed my Revit MEP 2012and when i start a new project, the template that comes with it has pretty muchnothing loaded, i mean, even if i want to design a simple duct, it shows up abox saying there's no family ducts loaded. Not even the elevations are setup. i've heard that we could fix the problem by getting the 2011 templates, unfortunately i have no other version installed and therefore no chance to dothat. I know also that i could load all those components and then create my templateto work on, but would be much better to have already some things set. i have downloaded some templates from autodesk, but they not having the ducts loaded, is it this normal? Would appreciateyour help 8)sorry, new to this revitmania Quote
Jacko93 Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 With my experiences of Revit, I find that a lot of work has to be put in in the early stages of a project, in order to make it easier later on. I have spent a fair bit of time creating our comany templates, with only the families that are expected to be used often loaded in. This helps to keep your model sizes down from the beginning. You could run a full project from scratch, purge out all your unused objects, unlink any files etc, then save as a template. But you must remember that for each new project you must aquire the project co-ordinates from the Arch model. I have just realise the age of this post, I hope you got sorted out in the end. (If you have experienced different to this answer, please let me know, we're all on a learning curve.......) Quote
