The command Laywalk

What is this used for? From reading, it seems as though if you use this command it is a way to turn on and shut off layers?

The following was found in the help file:

Dynamically displays objects on layers that you select in the Layer list.

Summary:

The number of layers in the drawing are displayed in the dialog box title. You can change the current layer state when you exit, save layer states, and purge layers that are not referenced.

You can use the Layer Walk dialog box in a paper space viewport to select layers to turn on and thaw in the layer table and the current viewport. Any layer that is not selected in the Layer list is frozen in the current viewport. You can change the display of one viewport without altering the display of another viewport.

I often use it to check drawings to see that everything is on the correct layer. You just start the command, and click one-by-one through the layer list, and you will see how it works. There is also a square to check that says something like "restore upon exit". If you check this, then the drawing layers will return to their original state when you exit the LAYWALK window. This is a good idea if the drawing has many layers.
