Browny_76
I am drawing in 3D in autocad 2012 and are getting solidworks models from the client. I also have solidworks 2011 installed on my machine and was trying to import the solidworks models into autocad as 3D solids. Can anyone tell me if this is possible?? Browny_76
Yes, AutoCAD 2012 will import SolidWorks 2011 3D solids. Thanks for the reply, What is the process to achieve this? i tried saving it out as an ACIS file but autocad says unable to read. Any help would be great. JD Mather
You can import directly *sldprt and *.sldasm files. If you use ACIS *.sat files you must set to v7 when saving in SWx. I will try to get back later today with the exact steps to open *.sld* files.
SLW210
I moved this to the AutoCAD 3D Modelling & Rendering forum. It is more of an AutoCAD question.
