Michigan Engineer Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 We have an aerial image and are placing an autocad drawing on top. It looks good in paperspace and looks correct for print preview but when we print it, only the aerial shows up. We think possibly the autocad drawing is going behind the image when we print. We have two separate viewports: 1. The image file 2. An isometric of our overlay drawing in autocad. The aerial has been brought in through the image manager. We can get the actual outline of the viewport of the autocad file to show up when we print it out on top of the image but the actual autocad drawing does not show up. Does anyone have any suggestions? TIA Quote
daiharv Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 why two separate viewports? Bring them together in Model space and view through 1 viewport in paperspace. Quote
Michigan Engineer Posted July 13, 2006 Author Posted July 13, 2006 Our autocad drawing is looking at it in plan view and the image is isometric. When we had them in the same viewport or both in model space when we would skew our autocad drawing (to try to match the isometric of the image) the image would skew as well so we could never match the skew of the autocad drawing to the skew of the image. Ako Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 Have you tried using the draworder command to send the arial to the back? Dave Quote
Michigan Engineer Posted July 17, 2006 Author Posted July 17, 2006 yeah, we've tried that too Dave, it's perplexing! Quote
Ako Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 yeah, we've tried that too Dave, it's perplexing! It certainly is. Have you tried a test print without skewing the CAD drawing? I tried to simulate your situation with a CAD drawing and an image and draworder worked. Dave Quote
