funky fedaykin Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 I have a serious issue! I cannot start AutoCAD 2009. Every time i do, I get the following message; FATAL ERROR: Unhandled e06d7363h Exception at 770c42ebh I have searched the forums, and can't find anyone with the same issue. It seems that there are heaps of people getting the same first number, but no-one gets one similar to the second one. I've also searched the Autodesk site, and found nothing related to my problem. I think it all started with a registry clean, performed by my McAfee security software. After it's clean, the properties wouldn't open, so i had to reinstall acad from our deployment on the server to get the properties back. Then I noticed the ribbon was stuffed; at first they had dificulty showing, then disappeared altogether. I figured that the reinstall may not have been done correctly, and so did it again, making sure the computer remained un touched during the proccess. After that, I haven't been able to start AutoCAD 09 scince. Every time i get the same error message before any menus or buttons show up. I have copletley uninstalled cad, emptied the registry of Autodesk stuff, reset my computer and installed again with the same result. Yesterday i even re installed windows Vista, but I still have the same issue. I have installed dirrectly from the disc, with no licence, with the same result. I don't know what to do, or whats going on, i'm completley usless at work till i have cad back, any help would be appreciated! Quote
ReMark Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 Any chance it is related to a bad memory module? Quote
funky fedaykin Posted October 22, 2008 Author Posted October 22, 2008 I don't think so. I have used each memory checker I have, and it all seems fine. Quote
ReMark Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 At any point in time did you install any Service Packs for 2009? Quote
funky fedaykin Posted October 22, 2008 Author Posted October 22, 2008 I installed the 2nd update not more than a month ago. I think the first one was included in the AutoCAD deployment. But I hadn't installed that update when I started receiving the errors I believe, as I had just reinstalled cad, but hadn't update it. Quote
ReMark Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 When you reinstalled Vista did you "wipe" the drive first? Where do you stand at the moment? Computer running, yes/no? What other programs are on this computer? Problems with any of them? What are the hardware specs? Can you provide specifics on the graphics card? Vista OS...which version? All updates installed prior to installing any other software? Quote
ReMark Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 While searching through the AutoCAD Discussion Group I came across someone who had a similar problem, i.e. - fatal error on start up of AutoCAD 2009. While he did not mention the exact error message he did go on to say.... "A component required by the .NET framework required higher group policy privelidges than my Administrator privelidges had. I had to have our IT department install the .NET framework." What version of NetFramework are you using? Quote

All updates installed prior to installing any other software? Ok, I didn't "wipe" the drive, but Windows did automaticaly put all the old files into windows.old folder My computer is up and running, no other issues with other programs, though prior to reinstall of vista, was having media sharing issues with WMP and Media Center; I don't know if that has anything to do with it. There are no other big programs on the computer, apart from the usual adobe reader, google earth, etc. Do you want a full list? I've been in conntact with our cad support people, and they're lost aswell. They advised taking off anti virus software, and the firewall is down, but still no change in the autocad start up. I've even created a new network image for our Autocad deployment from a vista machine, but that hasn't helped. The hardware specs are in my profile. Dell XPS M1530 OS: Vista Ultimate (SP1, 32 Bit) CPU: Intel Core2 Duo T9300 @ 2.5GHz RAM: 4GB 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM Graphics: 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT HDD: 400Gb SATA (i think 200gb free, one existing partition; Recovery) Monitors: 22" Viewsonic Widsecreen & 15.4" Laptop display I didn't update everything before installation of other programs. Are you supposed to do that? I do beleive I am using version 3 of the .NET framework. As my computer is a laptop, it isn't part of our work domain, so I am the administrator for my computer. Quote
ReMark Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 When you do a reload of an OS you should also download and install all updates before loading any other software. Yep, when AutoDesk can't figure anything out one of the suggestions is to shut down anti-virus. I am never comfortable doing that. One cannot be too careful these days. I'm leaning towards a problem with the graphics card drivers. Were those updated as well? Quote
funky fedaykin Posted October 26, 2008 Author Posted October 26, 2008 I'm leaning towards a problem with the graphics card drivers. Were those updated as well? Not that i know of, well not before the reinstallation of Vista. Scince then I have ensured that the graphics drivers are up to date. Quote
funky fedaykin Posted October 30, 2008 Author Posted October 30, 2008 Scince no one seems to be able to find out waht was wrong, my computer has had a clean new install of Vista. Cad seems to be working. Thanks for your suggestions ReMark! Quote
ReMark Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 While I am glad to hear that you are back up and running, and AutoCAD seems to be running fine, it would be better news if we knew the exact cause of the problem. It would also help if we knew what changed. For example, did the installation of the updated graphics card drivers play any part in this? Post back in a day or two and let us know if all continues to run well or if the problem resurfaces. Thanks for the update. Quote
