MrTapir Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Hello all, I've got a drawing that shows the site boundary for a planning application, its just a polyline drawn round xref mapping. A client wants us to export this to a shapefile, or as ESRI format I've heard (its all a bit vague). I believe they want to have it as a Mapinfo layer. Can anyone tell me how to do this? The client has sent through some 'instructions' that are I've never even heard of ESRI format before THanks Rich Quote
bill_borec Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Rich, ESRI is the company that makes GIS software (ArcInfo, MapInfo, ArcMap, ArcGIS, ArcView, etc.). It sounds like the client is simply needing you to export to an ESRI-friendly file-format. Actually, several files are exported (points, polygons, data, etc.). Unfortunately, with Acad LT you can't export to GIS, you need Acad Map or Civil 3D. What are these instructions from the client? Can you post them? You can give them the coordinates of the polygon you have drawn. Good luck. Quote
MrTapir Posted February 7, 2012 Author Posted February 7, 2012 Ok thanks, I think my colleague has gone to another team who have Autocad map so i think they're going to sort it out. THanks for your help. Rich Quote
