okaloosa_manderson Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 I am working with AutoCAD to set up the description keys so we can import our surveys correctly into AutoCAD. The description key editor in AutoCAD works but I would like to use Excel to create my description keys and then bulk upload them into AutoCAD via a lisp or something to save time. Anyone know of a quick way to do this or am I stuck using the description key editor built into AutoCAD? PS: If it helps, I already have the figure styles set up in autocad. We are using the FDOT's toolbar for AutoCAD which also came with their figure styles already. Quote
BIGAL Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Why are you adding another step it should be field straight to civ 3d if you have your descriptor keys set right it should work straight away. Are you using alpha code or numbers or both together is the data from a total station ? Please more info. Quote
okaloosa_manderson Posted February 21, 2012 Author Posted February 21, 2012 I am adding the Description keys into AutoCAD, thats what I wanted this lisp to do. I have an excel spreadsheet of our description keys and wanted to bulk upload them to AutoCAD instead of manually inputting them one at a time. Quote
BIGAL Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Understand now its a feature a lot of people would like the ability to export simply edit then re import the other software we use has had this in it for 20 years maybe 2013 ? I am pretty sure I have seen a way to do this but it was part of a package and there was a cost involved, maybe check Autodesk.com, 2012 has some new features to do with styles, you can remove un used styles but I dont think add. if you look up the VBA sample code theres stuff about creating styles from scratch, any one done something ?
