Hello,

Is it possible to make a 3D drawing from 3 2D-views?

I have 3 views, the leftside view, top view and front view.

Drawing file is included to make it easier to see.

Thanks in advance,

Mike

Without looking at the drawing I'd say that it could quite possibly be done by extruding each view in the proper orientation then run the INTERFERE command. I saw someone use this technique to model an electric guitar.

I'm not on my CAD computer at the moment so I have no idea what the object is you are trying to 3D model.

Something like this?

Exactly something like that :D How did you do that? ^^

Can you record what you are doing with fraps or so?

It was quite simple really. Draw a rectangle and extrude it 40. Draw another rectangle 25 and extrude it. Position the second rectangle then subtract it from the first rectangle. Then slice the whole thing along the angle plane and your done. I will prepare a step by step soon and post it to you.

What is there to double check both are the same and correct! the OP said it is exactly what he was looking for.. I don't get it..

The notch does not have the same dimensions as listed in the 2D drawings.

In what sense.. It is 20 instead of 25.. big deal

I don't know why I waste my time helping people and are you the OP? Mind your own dude

I don't know, is it a big deal.

25 or 24.97 probably would not have been a big deal.

If you looked at my revisions you will notice that you had the top and bottom views reversed, and the right end view was displaying the left end view, before I mirrored it. The approximation of the dimensions may not have been so much of an issue as those minor problems. In an open forum it is only natural to expect peer review, C & C. We are all pulling oars in the same striving to help the OP boat, or else we wouldn't be reading this. :|

This is true and has been duly noted. The original post was if it can be made into 3D. I simply complied. If it has not had the t's crossed and the i's dotted is not the question. I concur.

For simple geometry like this, PRESSPULL and EXTRUDE are probably the way to go....

I think there is some confusion here. I'm using the european projection method and yours is the american one.

@khama and nestly: Thanks for the step-by step guide. This makes everything much more clear.
