Wind up cable for crane lift? Point trace around cylinder?

I know I've seen this question asked numerous times, but I am trying to/needing to use rope to lift and lower a crane hook on a 5 wheel and 1 reel pulley system. On a video the user suggested using point trace on a cylinder, but I am having difficulty finding that in the tutorials. Could anybody specify?!?

I'm trying to understand how he connected that cable.

a point Trace is created in Inventor Dynamic Simulation (Inventor Professional).

Have you gone through the Wasim Younis book on using Dyamic Simulation?

Unfortunately no, and I am a bit short on time. I've been trying to find information on it in the wikihelp tutorials hosted by Autodesk but am not succeeding thus far. Do you have any general instruction or directly accessible websites, PDFs, etc?

You need about 6 months to learn Dynamic Simulation. (actually, I've been using it for 4 years and barely understand what I'm doing)

 

You might hire the job out.
