montespringer Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 I have a drawing in house that has issues. When using edit/ copy and edit / paste on a block within the drawing, the block changes to another block when pasted. On a side note, it comes in at the rotation of the original object which was copied. I believe that I am using V.2000 Quote
SLW210 Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Is there another block or block definition in the drawing with the same name? Quote
montespringer Posted February 24, 2012 Author Posted February 24, 2012 It's on another network at present. When it becomes available to me , I will. Thank you. Quote
nestly Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Is there another block or block definition in the drawing with the same name? There is not. Are you certain? The block doesn't actually have to appear in the model to be defined in the drawing. Type "INSERT" and if the block name appears on the list, then it's already defined in the drawing. Deleting a block doesn't remove the block definition, you have to PURGE it to remove it. Quote
montespringer Posted February 24, 2012 Author Posted February 24, 2012 The drawing has been purged, .dlf ran, and saved as another file name. As I observed, an item within the drawing was copied using the Edit/ Copy & Edit / Paste method. When pasted, it comes in as an entirely different block, however oriented the same as the original block. The block used for demonstration had a unique name. Even when using the insert tool and selecting a block, the thumbnail shows the correct block, yet when the block is dropped, it becomes something else. I'm just trying to get ahead on this. Sooner or later, the drawing will be in my hands and I don't wish to complicate my work environment. On the other hand, the other drawings that reside along side the drawing in question do not seem to be corrupt. Quote
nestly Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 If possible, post the drawing, and the block you're trying to insert unsuccessfully, as separate drawings so we can try to replicate your procedure. Quote
montespringer Posted February 24, 2012 Author Posted February 24, 2012 I do not currently have the drawing. I will post it when it beconmes available to me. Thank you. I realize that it require an upload for another person to develop a full understanding. I appreciate the attention. Quote
