Hi,

Can anyone tell me how to determine the mass properties of bolt, refer to attached image.

I'm afraid that your image isn't visible - please check this tutorial for image attachment procedure.

Regarding the calculation of volume, seems that since you are using LT the 3D modeling and MASSPROP command are out of question; you will have to calculate the volume by hand and multiply it with the density of material. If you will manage to attach the image, maybe someone with full AutoCAD will find the time to help you.

File attached this time, maybe mass properties is not the right description, it is the second moment of area in particular that I am after?

This is the result for your shape:

Area: 428.8445
Perimeter: 74.3788
Bounding box: X: -10.5000 -- 10.5000
                     Y: -12.0000 -- 12.0000
Centroid: X: 0.0000
                     Y: 0.0000
Moments of inertia: X: 16124.6459
                     Y: 13379.6690
Product of inertia: XY: 0.0000
Radii of gyration: X: 6.1319
                     Y: 5.5856
Principal moments and X-Y directions about centroid:
                     I: 13379.6690 along [0.0000 1.0000]
                     J: 16124.6459 along [-1.0000 0.0000]
