is it possible that they are simply blank?

Posting your email address is of course your choice, but if I were you, i'd take it back off before the spammers get hold of it and start loading up your inbox.

thanks it is so that people can quickly email me and i can send them the files to see if they are blank.

the files come up with previews which match what i would expect. The files are also of different sizes ie. 250 mb 650 mb and 195mb.

so i suspect theres something there but my new version of auto cad is probably set up wrong.

And it is possible the drawing is blank too. The preview is just a bitmap image.

Try zipping one of the drawings and uploading it here. You'll get a quicker response.

Is it possible that there is a rogue line, zillions of units away from the main drawing? When you zoom extents, take a distance across the visible screen, and see whether that is reasonable, or rather large

Do an erase, all, then pause and see on the command line if how many objects it finds.

... or just double-click in the drawing area -that's the same as Zoom to extents. Also the layers can be turned off.
