Has anyone ever used "ARES Commander Edition"? I'm on a 30 day trial with it. Admittedly, It's no AutoCAD but it does seem pretty quick and light.

If I switch my OS to Linux, I might check it out, though the "No LISP" might be a drawback for me as well as ......

 

Although ARES is very impressive, some notable AutoCADtype features are missing, including Sheet Set Manager, fields, dynamic blocks, action recorder, data extraction, dynamic UCS, parametric drawing, and data linking.
