Hawley Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 (edited) How do subract/cut the part of the magenta cylinder inside the gray cylinder from the attached pdf? Am trying to figure out hot to add/insert an image. May have to start over. Edited March 28, 2012 by Hawley Quote
Hawley Posted March 28, 2012 Author Posted March 28, 2012 When I subtract, selecting the gray cylinder to subtract from and then select the magenta cylinder to subtract, all of the magenta cylinder is subtracted. Quote
MSasu Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 You should select first the magenta cylinder and the grey one in the next step. Regards, Mircea Quote
Hawley Posted March 28, 2012 Author Posted March 28, 2012 That deleted the entire gray cylinder and a "slot" in the magenta cylinder. Quote
MSasu Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Then just make a copy of the grey part (using the same point as to/from) and use it in your boolean operation; next do what mdbdesign suggested - apply separate solids on magenta part; last step erase the part from inside the grey pipe.
