Plan View Walls single lines

Recommended Posts

I'm using AutoCAD MEP and am having troubles in my plan views. at first my conduits were just one line with elipses at the coupling points. i was able to get parts of that fixed through the display manager but it still has the center line. which isnt all bad but i dont like it. and now my walls are all single lines through my xref. i tried fixing that through the display manager as well but to no avail. any suggestions?

Are you only trying to remove the center line on the object?

If so, try right clicking the object and clicking on "Edit Object Display...". This will open the Object Display Window. Click the "Edit Display Properties" bow in upper right corner. This Opens the "Display Properties" box, here you can control the display of the object very similiar to using the Layer Manager.

Note the changes you make here will affect the same obect elsewhere in drawing, i.e. duct, conduit or pipe etc.

Hope this helps

Centerlines can be controlled from the Display manager as well as the Styles Manager. Be sure to run through both.

Also, be sure to adjust the preset Display Representations in the Display Manager for the XREF walls. Whatever the Display Representation is set at decides how the XREF will be viewed, if they are in fact AEC Wall Objects.

I have turned off the centerlines in the display manager for all views, and it still exists

Okay, but did you do the same in the Styles Manager as well? There are many levels of overrides for AEC Object Displays so it can be very tricky at times.

yes i had, changed it in the styles manager, not sure what the problem was, but it is now fixed. i think it had to do with how the drawing was originally set up by the architect, but it doesnt do it in new drawings
