JD Mather Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 ....thinking up a thread title. What you ask for is not simple. How much are you willing to pay? (I'm thinking $130 USD/hr - 4 hr minimum) http://www.ray-ban.com/usa/sunglasses?cat=19&promotion_id=100&cm_mmc=google-semsearch-_-brand-product-sunglasses-_-wayfarer-_-%5bray-ban%20wayfarer%5d Quote
sparkyuk Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 Silly Question why would you even want a cad drawing of a pair of raybans anyways ? Quote
otsaki Posted April 13, 2012 Author Posted April 13, 2012 Why do you see it "its not simple", you just need the frame of it to draw it, you dont need 3d, you just need 2d, practically some lines, that's all and some circles, nothing complex. Its hard for me because im new to autocad. So my point is, i just need the "frames" line. Sparkyuk, i want to make some drawings, its hard to explain. Anyways anyone can help? ofcourse cheaper because it makes no sense asking for so much money for 10 lines and 2 circles in 2d. P.S, i just need the FRONT VIEW of it, no 3d stuff, just front view simple. 2d Quote
Dana W Posted April 14, 2012 Posted April 14, 2012 It only seems simple if you have skipped every geometry class ever offerd to you. There are only two straight lines in a front view of these sunglasses, where the edge of the face frame meets the earpieces at the hinge. The rest of the image is made up of all tangential arcs. There are no circles at all, except maybe the hole through the hinge pieces. The above drawing certainly would not have taken the last 13 hours of your time to draw, even for a beginner, assuming you have the dimensions, and the model number. There are more than 30 models of Rayban Wayfarer sunglasses, by the way. The price of my work is not dependent on the number of lines, it is dependent on the qualification level of the contractor, is it not? A qualified draftsman would have to charge you for research time in order to come up with the dimensions, and parts nomenclature if you do not already have this information. If there is no available information on the dimensions and parts list, the contractor would have to purchase a pair of the sunglasses and measure them personally. These glasses sell for $150.00. That is about the same as my usual up-front deposit, so I would have to double the deposit in this case. If you do not want an accurate measured drawing, then I suggest downloading an image from google and tracing it. Or, if you have read this far, this sight offers several 3D models of the glasses. Buy one, download it, select front view, and you are done. Quote
JD Mather Posted April 14, 2012 Posted April 14, 2012 Its hard for me because im new to autocad. It's hard for me because I of the quality of work I would feel worth someone paying me for. Is this a school assignment? When was it due? Quote
