frode1977 Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 I am making a 11ft container in Inventor and 500mm from the top all around the assembly model is supposed to be orange, and the rest is white. How do you guys and girls do this? If not in Inventor what software? Was thinking about doing it in Photoshop, but im not a PS master. Quote
Bishop Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 You can change the colors of the parts. In the part file, select the face(s) whose color you want to change, then use the pulldown menu at the top of the screen to pick a new color style for it. I'd do a screenshot to show you where this is, but unfortunately our license server is FUBAR'd right now, so I can't get in to Inventor. If the 500mm area is not defined cleanly in a part - for instance, if the line passes through the middle of a face, rather than at the edge of one - you can use the SPLIT tool to cut the faces along a plane. frode1977 Posted April 16, 2012 Author Posted April 16, 2012 Thanks Bishop. I understand what you mean. The problem is what you say, the 500mm area is not defined clear, and many of the parts go in vertical zig zag pattern. I'll check out the SPLIT suggestion. EDIT: Fantastic that's how to do it. Quote
