Hi

Im quite new to using Autocad, and have no school/job training whit the program, but im making a cnc milling machine and need to make some things to make.

This is a clamp between the magazine and the barrle of a shotgun and i made the drawing in 2d to start whit and then used the EXTRUDE to make it inn to 3d.

As you can see on the top of the object there is no surface and the same goes for the buttom.

How can i make a surface?

I'd suggest doing it as a solid not a surface.

It almost looks like you extruded a group of lines (thus actually creating a surface).

Am I correct?

Why didn't you use the PressPull command? That would have yielded a solid.

Done using the PressPull command. It is a solid not a surface. When individual lines are extruded they result in a surface.

You could have made a closed polyline of your original lines and still used extrude to accomplish the same solid object.

If you are talking to me Bill, yes, I know that. But the OP seems not to be using closed polylines so I demonstrated a technique in which the result is the same despite using a different command. It was just an example. Users are free to construct their solids in any manner they choose.

Sorry, ReMark. I was commenting to the OP. That he (you) could or needed to close the polyline before extruding.

For a beginner (and advanced users) presspull is easier as it doesn't require closed polyline to create solid.

thanks guys!

Push/pull worked great!

There is no Push/pull that I am aware of. On the certification exam you will have to know proper command terms.

It is important to know and use the proper terminology. It makes conversing with your peers a lot easier.
