Epicurwin Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 (edited) Is there a way for the properties for pipe to show bottom of pipe rather than then center? It is really annoying to have to go through several steps to change elevation. On a related topic, I've noticed in 2012 that using the center arrow on a pipe will allow you to set the bottom of pipe elevation if you tab to the correct "input box." I'm the only person in the office using 2012 and I haven't noticed it on 2011. Is there a way I could turn this on for the 2011 version? Is it not included? Edited April 24, 2012 by Epicurwin Quote
tzframpton Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 There's a BOP PSD right out of the box. As long as the pipe isn't sloped it'll show the BOP just fine. Quote
Epicurwin Posted April 25, 2012 Author Posted April 25, 2012 I'm not sure what you mean by PSD. Quote
tzframpton Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Sorry, PSD = Property Set Definition. Some reading material here: http://exchange.autodesk.com/autocadmep/enu/online-help/search#WS64d9a2f0cce095131796abef985cc14ba-7f8f.htm Quote
Epicurwin Posted April 25, 2012 Author Posted April 25, 2012 On second thought I don't think I'm going to mess with the properties. I still want to get the elevation grip working the way i want it to. Take a look at this: http://exchange.autodesk.com/autocadmep/enu/online-help/search#WS73099cc142f48755558158a8119d88fb23c-7fbd.htm The second image after the title, "Modifying the elevation of a pipe" shows three different elevations when you select the middle arrow grip. You could tab through these to get to the bottom of pipe elevation and put that in directly so you wouldn't have to set the center than add the difference to the elevation to get the bottom where you would like it. I had this working in 2012 MEP, but it seems to have disabled somehow, out of nowhere. I didn't even close the drawing. It just stopped showing up. It is also not showing up in 2011. If anyone has an idea of how to get his back up let me know. Here another page describing what I want to do. http://inside-the-system.typepad.com/my_weblog/2009/08/rejustifying-pipes-in-autocad-mep.html Quote
tzframpton Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Oh I see, I thought you were wanting to tag the pipe, say in a Plan View. You have to have Dynamic Input turned on to be able to tab to the alternate elevation dimensions once you click the Elevation Grip. Is this what was wrong? Quote
Epicurwin Posted April 25, 2012 Author Posted April 25, 2012 Something so simply I would have never found it. StykFacE, you are one epic person. Quote
tzframpton Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Glad that was it. I never have Dynamic Input turned on, but there are certain things I do turn it on for - this is one of them. Quote
