I imported an autocad drawing and it is 1:1 but the dimension are not the actual size. How do i correct this? The dimension shown is 42.31

your question doesn't make sense. Are you saying the object is 1:1 but the dimensions read wrongly. If that is the case either somebody has modified the dimensions (bad) or added a scale factor in the dimension style (bad too). Either way I would ensure the dim scale is correctly set and re dimension it.

Alternatively if the item itsel doesn't measure what you are expecting (ie NOT 1:1) you need to scale the object against a known reference point.

some guys draw in scale in paper space rather then 1:1 have you any dims on the drawing to use as a reference ? if yes there are ways to correct your problem using the scale command. as I found here ages ago hope it helps

The Scale command has an option that can be used to scale an object simply by reference to two pick points and a known true distance.

Command: SCALE

Select objects: (highlite the drawing)

Select objects: Return

Specify base point: (pick any point or enter 0,0 if you want the lower left corner of the image to remain at the drawing origin)

Specify [Reference]: R

Specify reference length : (zoom in Zoom Window and pick the point where known dim starts)

Specify second point: ( pick the point at the other end of the line)

Specify new length: (the known distance)

Your whole drawing will now be correctly scaled

if your drawing on scale 1:1 and your dimension is not in scale...so don't go any where.... just re dimension again....

and check it carefully what dimension are you use... because may be your dimension style have apply scale factor....if factor have apply so you have to remove it....otherwise your dimension would not be set....
