grasshopper Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 my old video card burned out and I installed a Nividia GT 520 and have been having issues ever since, I uninstalled autoCAD 2009 and have tried reinstalling it and 2007, I can't seem to get them to activate, after the installation screen they seem to just attempt to load forever has anyone encountered this problem? what has been your remedy? I have CAD 2007 and 2009 obviously I'd rather get 09 running but if anyone has the remedy for 2007 that'll work for now until I get a newer version. Thanks in advance. Quote
ReMark Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 When you uninstalled your software did you follow the procedure as outlined on the AutoDesk website? You seem to be implying the installation of the new video card has something to do with your software not loading. Why is that? Could it just be coincidence? Quote
grasshopper Posted May 5, 2012 Author Posted May 5, 2012 autoCAD 2009 was already installed and working fine until I put the new video card in, I only tried to uninstall it after the program started acting up Quote
ReMark Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 You never should have uninstalled it. It could have been all you needed was a driver update for the video card. Did you follow AutoDesk's recommended procedure for uninstalling their software? Yes or no? Quote
grasshopper Posted May 5, 2012 Author Posted May 5, 2012 I did... at least I feel I did, I'm in the process of going through it again Quote
ReMark Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 Are you having problems with any other Windows program? Did you find and download the latest drivers for your graphics card? I think your Windows' Registry is messed up and no amount of tinkering on your part is going to fix it short of running a Registry cleaner. Quote
