iainlines Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 Had a look at this site after seeing it mentioned a few times here, very impressive. I wanted to download a couple of the lisp programmes but when I click download it directs me to a page full of the programming language with nothing actually downloading. Am I just being a bit thick? Cheers Iain
Dadgad Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 There are instructions on how to use them on the site. You will wonder how you lived without them. Thanks Lee!

Hi Iain, Firstly, many thanks for your compliments for my site, I appreciate it. As StykFacE points out, when directed to the source code from the download link, you can right-click and click 'Save Page As'. If you are using IE, you may instead need to right-click on the download link itself and click 'Save Target As'. This download behaviour occurs because all of the programs on my site are open-source (meaning that you can see and learn from the code). Being open-source, the programs are text files, which most browsers will immediately open in the browser window. To my knowledge there is no way to avoid this behaviour without using PHP. I could circumvent this behaviour by making the download link to a zip file, but I wanted to avoid using zip files as most people are very cautious when downloading zip files from a potentially unknown source. There are instructions on how to use them on the site. You will wonder how you lived without them. Thanks Lee! I could not agree more. More than half of my "custom library" is Lee's programs, haha. Cheers guys!

Bill Tillman Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 I find it easier to just have the IDE open, then I highlight all the code shown in the browser, click my mouse back in the IDE and then paste (plagerize) Lee-Mac's code straight into the working IDE window.

Bill, in light of all the free help that Lee gives everybody on this forum, and a few others, out of the goodness of his heart, I'm sorry to hear you say that (even in jest). There are those who look up to you, and those who look out for you, and I think you of all people know why, and where Lee fits into that equation. If it was my post I'd take it down.
Lee Mac Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 Well, good luck with your 'fully automated process' Bill, 'cause that's the last help you shall receive from me...
