DAVEBRENNAN71 Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 Hi everyone, could anyone give me any pointers on how to create a customised scale bar, I scale through viewports but some authoritys insist on a scale bar when its not the norm, I need to create a 1:75 and a 1:30, basically the method to make whatever scale I need. Cheers everyone Dave Quote
Tiger Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 The easiest way I have found to do a scale bar if you don't want to do calculations is to draw the bar in your model space and scale it to the correct scale in a viewport. If you are meaning what I am meaning that is? Quote
DAVEBRENNAN71 Posted May 15, 2012 Author Posted May 15, 2012 cheers mate I never thought of that, I think i know what you mean, you know the calc method is there anyway you could expand on this for me if you have time. Thanks Tiger Dave Quote
ReMark Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 Bar scales, already pre-made, can be found at the AUGI website. Some of them might even be Dynamic Blocks. Michael Beall, of Michael's Corner (here at CADTutor) has even covered the topic of creating one as well. Quote
Tiger Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 It's not that hard to calculate really, it's just that I tend to get it wrong - and when it comes to matters of the scale, it's best to sure. for a 1:30 scale bar you would perhaps have (as I have in the 1:20-example above) a range from 0 to 2 meters. So 2 meters at 1:30 scale is 0.06667 meters. So you draw a line that is 0.06667 meters long. That is your basic scale bar. At least that's how I have done them in the past. Now I have them saved as blocks and never ever have to do calculus again!! (I wish) Quote
