rogle Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 Hi I have just updated to 2013 product design suit and am looking at inventor. Im trying to create a part that has a white finish but when I select this it is shown as a dark grey. Iv have tried other colours but nothing appears white its just grey. haven't really had a good look through the settings so could be something in there. any help would be great Thanks Quote
rogle Posted May 22, 2012 Author Posted May 22, 2012 just to add on when I open up a part that I designed in 2012 it comes up with a prompt box asking me if I want to convert styles. if you click no it will show it in white as required. however if I click yes then it converts it to the new style and goes to grey Quote
Bishop Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 Okay, now, when you're setting the color in 2012, are you doing it through the material style or are you doing it through the little pulldown menu in the modeling environment? If you're not doing through the style manager, it sounds like Inventor is finding that you've still got the material set to DEFAULT and is applying that style to everything that it's set for ... which is, well, everything unless you changed it. rogle Posted May 23, 2012 Author Posted May 23, 2012 Im changing it in the modelling environment but im changing the appearance colour not the material. Quote
Lazer Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Are you doing it in an assembly or part file? If an assembly try clicking the part you you are in the part file then change the colour. Quote
rogle Posted May 24, 2012 Author Posted May 24, 2012 I tried doing it in an assembly first then in the part file and it was the same outcome for both Quote
