Ok this may be somewhat hard to explain but here goes... I have been doing some 3d autocad drawing using 2004 full...

Up till now all had been good. Today however when ever I try to move an object I select the object and use the move command to move the object...usually when ever I do this I can see the object move in "real time". Today how ever I can not, the object will still move but not in real time. I can give it a distance comand and it wil move, if I drag it it will move but I am unable to see it move in real time. With the drawing I do, move visual than technical this make it hard to line things up as I need. Before If I had large object sometimes it would take a few seconds to re-draw in real time but now untill I "enter" to complete the move comand I can not see the new position of the object.

All I can see if the old position and when the comand is completed the new location. Nothing in-between...

Is there a setting that for some reason has changed that i may not know about? I changed nothing in the Autocad setting that i am aware of.

Is there a way to rest all auto cad setting back to the default if nothing else works?

Thanks for any and all help. Yours humbly rd2004.

It sounds like you need to reset DRAGMODE to Auto.

THANKS THAT DID IT!! Any idea what combo of keys I may have hit to change it?

Thanks again!

These inadvertent setting changes typically occur when a user cancels out of a command. Ideally all commands would be structured such that any settings changes would be reset whether the command terminates naturally or the user interupts it via ESC key or initiating another (non transparent) command.

These "non termination friendly" commands are often custom Lisp or VBA macros, but some of AutoCAD's own commands exhibit this trait (MVSETUP as example).
