pratik koli Posted June 30, 2012 Posted June 30, 2012 hello,i am a new autocad user.i have a 2012 version of autrocad and i have a problem with my 3Dobject settings. when i move my cursor over any object (eg:box) placed in SW iso view,I cannot see the bottom face of box neither the back or right side. The object should become transparent when i move my cursor over it,but instead the object is purely solid. When i want to shell box from bottom it becomes a problem. please help Quote
nestly Posted June 30, 2012 Posted June 30, 2012 You can try X-Ray visual style, but it's unlikely that you'll be able to select the obscured faces. I would either create a 2nd viewport that shows the "back" of the object, or rotate the view so I can see the side that needs to be modified/selected. (Shift+Middle button) Quote

Either the X-RAY visual style or one of the WIREFRAME (2D or 3D) visualstyles will enable you to select one of the obscured faces, though the selection will first select based upon line of sight. Select again and it will select the obscured face, after which you will need to use the REMOVE option from the commandline prompts to delete the ones which you want to remove from the selection set. Dadgad Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 You may want to check your SUBOBJECTSELECTIONMODE variable setting, as explained in the image. I'm guessing that you would want to set it to 0, which is how I tested it, and I believe the default setting. Enter SUBOBJECTSELECTION at your commandline and check your current system variable setting, if need be, change it to 0. Quote
