gon982 Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 Hi everyone I'm newbie here working with Autocad 2012, and I'm having problem regarding non coplanar lines. I've tried flatten command and even change command for elevation but I'm still having the same problem, I'm hoping that this forum can give me idea on how to solve this issue. Thanks a lot in advance... Quote

Dadgad Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 Welcome to the forum. Try turning on your QUICK PROPERTIES, which you can do at the bottom of your screen, left of center, second icon from the right, or enter QUICKPROPERTIES at the commandline. SET your VIEW to TOP. Select everything on your screen, or at least ALL of the lines which you want to flatten. Select lines from the QUICK PROPERTIES drop down list, and set your Z start and Z end points to zero, like in the image, then hit ENTER. That should do it. The CHANGE command won't fix elevations if they are not coplanar. The FLATTEN command should do it though, wonder why it didn't? Could that be due to a UCS issue? Quote
CyberAngel Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 At one time (and they may have fixed it by now) you could draw two objects in different UCSs, and even though they were technically coplanar, AutoCAD said they weren't. The only solution, as far as I know, is to redraw both objects in the same UCS. Quote

Still true for Polylines (and other entities that contain UCS information) but I don't think it should be a problem with regular Lines. Quote
