Can not render to file

Hello,

 

I can't render to a file. All options are gray for that function. All other rendering options are fine and work correctly. Any and all help and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Maybe it is a momentary glitch. Did you shut down the system completely, wait 20 seconds, reboot and try again?

I did and still no option. Even in rpref, the 'output file name' field is grayed out. I could really use a solution. please see attached..........

I never paid attention to that mark/icon, setting the destination to something other than 'viewport' and selecting the icon you indicated fixed my bacon!

(on a side note, i remember the destination pull-down having a 'file' option in there?! am I nuts?)

The little teapot icon just to the right of Render Context.

Thanks! I had "Viewport" as destination. After changing it to "Window" it was possible to give a file name and folder. But the Output size is only 1024x768, though I define it to 4096x3072?
