Jeremy Kee Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 I am working on the AutoCAD 2009 version. I was sent a plan by email that is in 1:80 scale. My boss wants it in 1:100. I have searched high and low and have not been able to get any of the suggestions to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Quote
rickh Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Need more info. How is the drawing set up? Is the linework in model (is it drawn at true scale), and labels in paperspace? Are the labels in model space...is everything in model space? Are the labels using annotative scales? There were a lot of options chosen when the drawing was first created. We need to know what the current state of the drawing is to avoid a bunch of random guessing. Also, attaching the drawing would help if you can. Quote
Dadgad Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Welcome to the forum. I am guessing that since you received it by email that it is probably a .dwg file? At this point I am assuming that you are working with an open Autocad file, and that you either want to zoom into it, to see what is going on, or you want to print it? Is your boss with you at your workstation and you are checking it out together? If so go into Modelspace and zoom in as far as you want to go and look around. If you are trying to print it at a new scale, and hopefully there is already a viewport in your paperspace layout, then you will need to rescale the existing viewport from 1:80 to 1:100. That is easily done. Turn on your PROPERTIES. Select the viewport (the box like frame wherein your drawing is displayed - not the drawing border or sheet- Look in your Properties and it should indicate that you have selected a VIEWPORT. Look through the properties described for the viewport, and you will find 2 that you will likely need to attend to. The first is DISPLAY LOCKED, if it says NO, then proceed directly to adjusting the SCALE in the SCALE box. If the viewport is LOCKED then you will need to UNLOCK it before you will be able to change the displayed SCALE. Once you have changed the SCALE to 1:100 you will want to LOCK the viewport again, to ensure that it remains displayed in the manner and scale which you have specified. Here's hoping the dimensions are in Modelspace on this one. Double click inside the viewport (drawing as displayed in your paperspace layout), which will activate the viewport. As rickh has suggested there may be more that needs be done, in a best case scenario it would be that simple. I hope that helps you, let us know how it goes, or if you need more help. You would be wise to save a COPY of this drawing before you start altering it, although I suppose you have one, in essence in your email inbox. Quote
