getting an elevation callout view to a sheet

I can’t figure out how to add a view that has 5 elevation callouts to a sheet. I created 5 elevation views looking at different areas of a basement wall for sleeve locations. I put all 5 elevation views on the same view drawing as the callout. I can drag all 5 views to a sheet and all the info fills itself in but how do I get the floor plan with all the elevation callouts to a sheet.

This is very confusing by I think I might have your description figured out.

 

When you say you created 5 Elevation Views, are you saying you used the Section Tool? Or did you just simply use a Camera and create Modelspace Views in a rotated UCS? And by "Callout" are you using the Aecb Callout tool with your Sheet Sets? You have to make sure it's a Callout that's capable of referencing Views when you create them on Sheets. Either way, can you be more clear and/or possibly upload the file so I can take a look at them to help?

From the electrical tool pallet, on the annotate tab, I used the elevation mark A2 callout tool. I used the generate section in current drawing option and both check boxes were checked for generate section and place title mark. All the sections that were created and placed in the same view filewere dragged to a sheet with no problem. They were draged from the view folder in project navigator on to a sheet. But now how do I get the floor plan that has all the elevation callouts on to a sheet.

 

I zipped the file together with the backgrounds and it came in at 7 megabites, to large to up load here. I sent you the link in a private message.

I see what's going on. First thing... you're placing the Viewport Tags in the wrong place. Viewport Tags, Callouts, etc... those all read dynamically from a "Sheet Set", never from "Modelspace". So you have to create a Sheet Set first. (However, since you are using AutoCAD MEP, I highly suggest setting up a Project instead. It's a lot harder to get used to at first, so start with Sheet Sets for now, but later you should really consider Projects... they are well worth learning it and using it: ten fold.)

 

So after you set up a Sheet Set, these are where my steps come in (I suggest just using the example that Autodesk gives you when you create one, that's all I did here. If you do, then everything will work correctly).

 

 

 

 

 

This is how you utilize Callouts. They must always reside in Paperspace, and they simply populate the data within the Sheet Set that you maintain. It is an effective way of streamlining your projects/sheets so everything always maintains accuracy, but you have to do it a certain way. Hope this helps.

thank you for the information. The drawing is in a project navigator project and it was exported out when it was sent to you. My main problem( I know now thanks to you) was getting the floor plan in a model space view. I saw that you had created one. I am still not able to recreate the one you had . I was able to use yours to finish my weekend work. Whenever I try to create the floor plan model space view and drag it to a sheet, it's missing most of the objects. For example, it is missing the text in the grid circles. Add Annotative Scales is selected , so that shouldn't be the problem . Because there is a lot more missing then just Annotative missing objects. You also answered my question about the plotting and the reason it was not working is because I did not have a plot style selected, so that solved that problem for me. Thanks again.
