I have a drawing drawn to 1:5000 and my metric ruler only has 1:500

I tried multiplying my reading by 10... but it seems to be to large? how do i convert the 1:5000 so i can draw a measurement on the 1:500 ruler scale?

I haven't used one of these rulers in ages so please explain it with some detail in fact i dunno if i'm even using it correctly

Thank you

You will need to divide by 10, as 1/500 is ten times larger than 1/5000.

For instance, if you draw something which reads as 100 meters on your 1/500 scale

onto your 1/5000 scale drawing, it is no longer 100 meters, but 1000meters.

Are you talking about working on an actual paper print of a drawing,

or in Autocad, on your computer?

If you are on your computer go to MODELSPACE, and hopefully you will find the drawing done full size, at 1:1 scale.
