omgulur Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Hey guys/girls I made a stand up paddle board in a program called ACU shaper which is a .brd extension, I know a guy with a hotwire to cut my foam but he needs it in CAD format. If anyone has any suggestions I will try them all until we find the solution, thanks. Quote
MSasu Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Please check what other file formats is the said ACU shaper application able to export - it will be useful if supports DXF. Quote
SLW210 Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Did you mean AKU Shaper? Also find out which CAD format is needed. You will need to download BoardCAD to import your .brd and export as STP, DXF or STL. Quote
omgulur Posted August 1, 2012 Author Posted August 1, 2012 Yeah I meant AKU shaper. he wanted .dxf So I got BoardCAD so much for that worked a charm... Hopefully this guy thinks so as well. Quote
karuhi Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 hello, i also am trying to do something similar to this. i'm making (or about to) eps cored timber skinned surfboards - no fiberglass, 4-6mm timber skins and sealed. but i need to be able to take an aku shaper BRD file and turn this into a basic dfx file. the dfx file will only have the plan shape of the board - outside circumference and the basic bottom curve. the eps blank will then have the stringer glued in and a 3mm band glued around the outside. it will then be shaped on the aku shaper machine. if anyone is able or interested in doing this for me it would be much appreciated. this is not going to be a commercial enterprise - purely for myself family and friends. i am prepared to pay if necessary. thanks - karuhi Quote
