Meti9 Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 if anyone can help, i'd really appreciate it. i was given this 2D example piece. and was asked to recreate it on CAD. i use AutoCAD MEP 2010. i'm not exactly a pro with CAD either, but thought this site could help. if you were to go about making a tutorial or some kind of step by step for it, would any of you be able to explain it better? if email is better for you, here's mine, dr.steele@live.com Quote
ReMark Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 I just don't have the time to write a full-blown tutorial for this. Sorry. But I can offer this advice. You'll need to use the Line, Circle, Trim, Copy and/or Mirror commands. For completely straight vertical or horizontal lines make sure you have OrthoMode enabled. That's the F8 key on your keyboard. This can be toggled on/off. You can use the MText command for all text. Set the font style, etc. via the Style command. Are you going to make use of a paper space layout? Make sure to set up layers for your geometry (the objects you are drawing) and your text. Do not draw everything on layer "0" in color: white. Quote
Meti9 Posted July 31, 2012 Author Posted July 31, 2012 it's alright. i figure a full blown tutorial would take awhile. i'll take your advice into account however, and see what i can do with it. and yes, i'll be making use of a paper space layout. thank you. i appreciate you taking the time to reply. ReMark Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Re: Paper space layout. You should create a layer for your viewport(s) and set it to "no print" in the Layer Properties Manager. Your title block and border belong over in the layout and not in model space. What size paper will you be printing to? Are these going to be "standard" details? If you have further questions then come back here and ask. There's always someone around who can help. Good luck. Quote
