Previously, I was using Autocad 2009. We have recently moved up to Autocad 2013.

In 2009, to print screen, I would press 'print screen', then open a new drawing, select 'edit', 'paste special' then, 'image entity' and get a re-sizable image.

In 2013, I go thru the same process. For a few times, I get a re-sizable image, then I will get a 'Autocad application has stopped working. A problem has caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available'.

I have been getting this message for about 3 weeks. No one from Autocad has contacted me and I have not got any messages.

Has anyone else had this problem? It is very frustrating.

I can paste a 'print screen', but I would prefer to have a re-sizable image.

Any suggestions?

No one is going to contact you. I've submitted lots of error reports over the years but I have never been contacted by anyone with a solution.

Here's another option. Hit printscreen and then open Paint or Gimp or Photoshop or whatever image editing software you have installed on your computer. Open a new document and paste your printscreen. Save as .jpg and then insert that image into your CAD program.

If they are not going to answer, why the BS?

Tried your suggestion, got an image, not re-sizable.

I guess I'll just have to live with it.

Thanks,

I'm not sure what the problem is then. I can insert images and resize them with no problem in 2012. Maybe there is an issue with images in 2013?

Sounds like it is a 2013 problem.

Could you post a .dwg that exhibits this behavior?

I do not have a problem with .dwg print screen. They 'transfer' O.K.

The application note only comes up when I 'print screen' off the internet, mostly pictures.

Sorry if I did not explain my problem completely.

I tried it in 2013 and as soon as I click ok, the program terminates/crashes immediately for me (although no message about it having stopped working is displayed; it just exits).

Edit: tried the same procedure on another computer here that has 2012 on it and it worked fine; so it does indeed look like a 2013 problem most likely.

If you are on subscription contact Tech Support and explain the problem to them. I've had a few problems with C3D 2013 and they've got back to me each time I contacted Tech Support. They have also come up with solutions, but not every time.

If you are not on suscription you should get your dealer to contact Autodesk Tech Support with your problem.

SLW210,

Hey, thanks. I'm new here, as you probably know.

I work for the City and I will have to contact the Computer Dept. for any work on it.

Getting comfortable with 2013 after moving from 2009 is hair-pulling in some cases.

Appreciate the help.

Rich
