Does anyone know of a good DWG to PDF converter, that is simple to use, lets you select the Layouts you want to print, merge into one pdf file, etc. and sells in the neighborhood of $100

Why don't you just plot to PDF? I use the PUBLISH command, and have page layouts set up to plot to PDF. It makes one large, multi-page file of all my drawings, and it's REALLY easy, and I just have Adobe PDF X standard.

I also use AutoCAD 2009 and know how bad the dwg to pdf.pc3 is. I use TrueView, a FREE download from AutoDesk. Simply open the dwg in TrueView, and it looks just like it did in AutoCad. Select and print your layouts as if it were AutoCad. The dwg comes up just like you set it up in AutoCad, complete with the same *.pc3 selections in all your existing layouts. You can use Plot, Publish and/or Sheet Sets. You can also retro-convert dwg files from 2012 back to 2007-9 with it, when you need to.

Since TrueView is Free I will also check it out, thanks for your response and time.

@B-GriF: Something that might help with the inherent issues with the publish command, I have a file specifically set up with ONLY my printer setups, page setups, if you will. When you run the publish command, get all your drawings that you want printed, select them all, right click > Change Page Setup, then select IMPORT. Import from the file you have with all your page setups, and make sure you select your imported page setup.

That gets rid of all the issues I've ever had with PUBLISH, since TrueView drives me insane. It also keeps you from having to set up any print options EVER.
